Severe blizzard warnings were issued throughout numerous states located in the North-Eastern states of the U.S., disrupting services and travel around the areas.
Winds reaching upwards of 60 mph had been reported, with authorities advising those wishing to hit the roads to abandon their plans and stay indoors. It has been reported that these storms had affected over 50 million people throughout the area.

Meteorologists had predicted that at its worst, snowfall could reach somewhere around 4 inches per hour, which had cities closing down roads, delay and cancelling flights in and out of their cities. Unless absolutely necessary, everyone was ordered to stay in their homes.

It has been reported that almost 7,000 flights were cancelled, as conditions were too terrible to risk any take-offs and landings, with the harsh winds blowing.
